Adventures of a Stay-At-Home-Daughter*

*As my academic career wraps up and I look for work/begin bar prep, I've jokingly christened myself a "stay-at-home-daughter" because it seems to best describe my current lot in life.

I'd like to say that I've been missing in action for the last week and a half because my parents surprised me with a return trip to London to drop off my thesis and, of course, see this exhibit:

Except that definitely didn't happen. That said, I've still been plenty busy here in the U.S..

The highlights included:
-babysitting my Aunt's golden retriever puppy for two weeks (I love dogs so this was tons of fun even if she was completely high maintenance)
-'hosting' my cousin's bridal shower
-embarking on the great bridal jewelry hunt of September 2011
-making 204859372 runs to the recycling center because my father can't stand having any excess cardboard, yardwaste, or co-mingled bottles in the barn.
-mastering a crabcake recipe (summer's over but I love crab any meal any day)
-navigating the wilds of rural NJ to attend a wedding (not my cousin's)
-serving as secretary for various members of my family (editing cover letters, drafting resumes etc)
-reading like its my job
-composing epic length emails to my favorites
-participating, as chief grass seed scatterer, in operation put the yard to sleep.

So basically just your basic fall in the suburbs. What has been the highlight of your Autumn so far?

Love! Puppies and high maintenance go together in my opinion but in the best of ways.

p.s. Hunting for bridal jewelry gives me nightmares. There are so many bad choices - it's a jungle.

I am all about your typical Fall days. My Fall days consist of work, television, and trying to talk myself into hitting the gym, haha.
