Beantown and Bests

I hopped up to Cambridge last weekend was able to spend a wonderful (although waterlogged) weekend with one of my favorites.

D. and I during my senior week.

D. and I attended Notre Dame together but have spent the last two years on different continents (first she was in France and I was in New York, then I was in London and she was in DC). So I am simply overjoyed that not only are we on the same continent but in the same time zone!

We spent Saturday wandering Charles Street, loping through the Public Gardens and the Common and trooping down Newbury and seeking shelter in such fine shops as Kate Spade and Simon Pearce. What a wonderful ramble!

D. is studying at Harvard (yup, she's beautiful and super smart) so we hunkered down in Cambridge on Saturday night and spent a cozy evening catching up and snacking on apple slices. It was the epitome of fall and my very definition of friendship.

East Coasters, how did you fair with the surprise winter weather? Did everyone have a lovely Halloween?

I never remember it snowing this much prior to Halloween. Then again the weather has been so crazy this fall, I mean 85 Columbus Day Weekend?

How fun!

The snowstorm on the East Coast actually made the news here in NZ. Crazy! I'm just glad that we weren't there for it :-)

Sounds like a fun, relaxing weekend with a good friend! I really wish I could be cozy by the fire during fall. Too bad it's 80 today!
