Enchanté Today

Several months ago I was listening to a book on tape while walking through Hyde park (what a lovely way to spend an afternoon!), when the reader used the word "enchanting." It struck me that while I adore the word 'enchanting,' I don't normally use it.

Over the past few months I've taken note of more and more of these words that have fallen out of either general use or of my particular vocabulary. The idea of "enchante today" was born. Simply, at the end of every blog post or as the subject of a post in itself, I'll highlight a word, object, photo, or act that I find particularly charming and worthy of a little spotlight.

Enchanté Today: 'fandango' - noun, plural -gos.

1. a lively Spanish or Spanish-American dance in triple time, performed by a man and woman playing castanets.
2. a piece of music for such a dance or one having its rhythm.
3. a ball or dance. (via) (image via)

I'm just taken with the idea of using "fandango" to describe a large party, although I'm sure that I might get a few looks from people that only think of those paperbag movie puppets when they hear "fandango" (a group I would have included myself in up until two weeks ago).

What do you find enchanting today?

Today? Probably the cream cheese frosting on my pumpkin bars (it's Paula Deen's generic recipe from my understanding). The bars were fine, but the frosting? Enchante.
